Aloe + Black Pepper + Henbane is a combination topical preparation containing extracts of three traditional ingredients:

• Aloe (Aloe vera/Aloe barbadensis leaf extract) — soothing, emollient plant extract.
• Black Pepper (Piper nigrum fruit extract, containing piperine) — traditionally used as a rubefacient/counterirritant.
• Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger extract) — contains tropane alkaloids (hyoscyamine, hyoscine/scopolamine, atropine) which are pharmacologically active and toxic in excess.

• Do not ingest/swallow under any circumstance.
• Wash hands thoroughly after application.

No well-established, systematically documented drug interactions have been confirmed for Helax, as it is intended for topical use with minimal expected systemic absorption when used as directed.

However, because the henbane component contains anticholinergic tropane alkaloids, theoretical additive anticholinergic effects could occur if significant systemic absorption occurs together with other anticholinergic medicines (e.g., certain antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, atropine-containing products). Avoid combining Helax with other topical products containing anticholinergic or alkaloid-based ingredients, and inform your physician of all medicines and topical products in use.

When used strictly as a topical application, Helax may occasionally cause local skin reactions:

• Use strictly as directed, for topical application only.
• Use the smallest effective amount for the shortest necessary duration.

• This traditional remedy should not delay or replace evidence-based medical evaluation and treatment for significant or persistent pain.
• Use only under the guidance of a qualified traditional medicine practitioner or physician, given the known toxicity potential of the henbane component.
• Avoid contact with broken skin, mucous membranes, and the eyes (see Contraindications).
• Not for use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or children (see Contraindications).
• Keep out of reach of children at all times, including during storage, due to the toxicity risk if ingested.

Overdose or excessive systemic absorption of Helax (for example, through ingestion, application to broken skin/mucous membranes, or use over very large areas) can cause anticholinergic (tropane alkaloid) toxicity, with symptoms that may include:

• Dry mouth and dry skin
• Blurred vision and dilated pupils
• Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
• Flushing, fever, or hot skin
• Confusion, agitation, or hallucinations
• Urinary retention
• In severe cases, seizures or loss of consciousness

If overdose or ingestion of Helax is suspected, or if any of the above symptoms occur, seek immediate medical attention or contact emergency services/a poison control center right away. Do not attempt specific home treatment for suspected toxicity.

Store at room temperature (below 30°C), away from light and moisture. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.

• Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Avoid Helax (see Pregnancy and Lactation).
• Children: Avoid Helax in children due to toxicity risk and lack of safety data (see Contraindications and Pediatric Uses).
• Elderly patients: Use with additional caution, applying the smallest effective amount, as older adults may be more sensitive to anticholinergic effects if systemic absorption occurs.
• Patients with hepatic or renal impairment: No formal studies are available; use only under close professional supervision given the unpredictable systemic exposure if absorption occurs.

Helax is intended only for short-term, as-needed symptomatic use for localized pain. It should not be used continuously or for a prolonged period. If pain persists, worsens, or does not improve within a few days, discontinue use and consult a physician for proper evaluation and evidence-based treatment rather than continuing this traditional remedy.
