Pharmacology

Diosmin and Hesperidin is a phlebotonic drug and a vascular protecting agent.

Absorption

Thus Diosmin and Hesperidin decreases venous capacitance, venous distensibility, and venous emptying time.

Distribution

Diosmin and Hesperidin protects the microcirculation by fighting the microcirculation damaging process; It combats venous inflammation by decreasing leukocyte activation, and as a consequence, by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, principally free radicals and prostaglandin.

Metabolism

Thus Diosmin and Hesperidin normalizes capillary permeability and strengthens capillary resistance.

Excretion

It reinforces venous tone by prolonging the activity of parietal noradrenaline.

Dosage & Administration of Avonoid 450 mg+50 mg

Notes:Tablet should be taken at meal times
Acute hemorrhoidal attacks
Dosage:3 tablets twice daily for the first 4 days, then 2 tablets twice daily for three days and if required 1 tablet twice daily as maintenance dosage
Chronic hemorrhoids
Dosage:1 tablet twice daily
Chronic venous insufficiency
Dosage:1 tablet twice daily initially for seven days
Notes:Duration may be increased depending on severity
