Umactabid is a urinary antiseptic antibiotic that is FDA-approved and guideline-supported for the following use:

Umactabid requires adequate renal function to concentrate in the urine for antibacterial effect and to avoid systemic toxic accumulation; it is contraindicated in significant renal impairment (see Contraindications).
Hemolytic anemia may occur in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency; Umactabid should be used with caution or avoided in such patients.
