Medicine overview

Indications of Vono 20 mg

Vono 20 mg is used for the treatment and prevention of acid-related stomach conditions, including gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and reflux esophagitis. It also helps prevent ulcer recurrence in patients taking low-dose aspirin or NSAIDs.

It is additionally used as part of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication therapy, supporting recovery in conditions such as peptic ulcers, MALT lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), and post-endoscopic resection of early gastric cancer or H. pylori–associated gastritis.

Theropeutic Class

Potassium competitive acid blocker

Pharmacology

Vono 20 mg is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by reversibly inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme in parietal cells. Unlike proton pump inhibitors, it does not require acid activation and acts directly at the site of acid production.

Due to its strong basic nature and prolonged retention in gastric parietal cells, Vono 20 mg provides rapid, sustained, and potent acid suppression, helping protect the gastric mucosa and reduce upper gastrointestinal mucosal damage effectively.
